Just like a phoenix, to rise beyond its ashes.…

What is meant to happen, will surely do,
And we know, there’s no changing that.
Yet, we stress at every level,
Always anxious; putting on that ever-thinking hat.
.
.
Sometimes lethargic and sometimes low,
Wondering why, and feeling very alone.
Shush! you say and dismiss those thoughts,
But that anxiety you feel, is not yet a bygone.
.
It’s not easy to live with those inner demons,
An unwanted worry; a self-doubting thought.
Somehow, we manage to relegate it all,
But trust yourself to heal, and it can surely be fought.
.
.
Reach out and ask for help,
For surely it isn’t a sign of being meek.
It takes courage to accept and want to heal,
So, believe in yourself; and know that you are not one bit weak.
.
.
Healing is not an outcome; it is a process,
Every day you are learning to survive.
Be kind to yourself, and celebrate the little wins,
Some self-love, or even a high five. .
.
Surround yourself with people who lift you,
But also invest in a little me-time.
Visit a spa, or buy that skirt you’ve been eyeing,
For taking care of yourself is never a crime. .
.
Just when things are getting better,
Everything comes down and suddenly crashes.
But I guess sometimes we need to fully burn,
Just like a phoenix, to rise beyond its ashes. .
.
I take this opportunity to talk about October 10- world mental health day.
.
.
What is mental health? .
.
Mental health is emotional, psychological and social well-being. It is how we think, what we feel, how to relate to others that determines our stability.
More often than we’d like, we know someone who is suffering from clinical depression, or bipolar disorder, or eating disorders.
All we need to do as civil human beings is to lend a hand of support or a ear to listen — for this could be solving half the problem.
The first step towards helping, is recognizing that someone needs help.
I wonder why we forget that the mind belongs to our body too…
